FSVP
Fee: $4,000 (Starting fee)
The Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requires importers of food into the United States to verify that their foreign suppliers produce the food in compliance with US food safety rules. The importer develops and follows an FSVP for each food it imports.
Who Is Obligated?
The US importer, meaning the US owner or consignee of the goods at the time of entry. If there is no US owner or consignee at entry, the foreign company must designate a US-based representative as the importer, and the FSVP obligation passes to that representative. The importer’s name, email address and facility identifier are provided with each customs entry.
What We Do
- We prepare the hazard analysis and supplier evaluation for your product and supplier.
- We compile the documents requested for your importer’s FSVP file.
- If you have no buyer in the United States, we help you set up the representative structure to be designated as the importer.
What You Receive
- Product-specific FSVP file
- Document list for supplier verification

- If there is no US owner or consignee at entry, the foreign company designates a US-based representative as the importer, and the FSVP obligation passes to that representative. We help you set up this structure.
- Do I need a separate FSVP for each product?
- Yes, the importer develops an FSVP for each food it imports. We prepare the file specifically for your product and supplier.
